Week Three

Here we are...

...in the third week of school...

...already!

We meet our new co-op student.

Her name is Aya...

...and we pronounce it...

"I"ya.

The children respect Aya so much.

They miss here when she is not here.

Each morning they ask...

..."Is Aya coming today, Mr. Hamer?"

I respond...

..."She comes to see us every day!"

We have to share Aya...

...with some other teachers.

We are lucky to have her in our class throughout the entire third block each day!

Outdoor gym is fun!

We really dig in to the soccer game.

Taking turns to be the goalkeeper.

A little one...with a big kick.

Great physical fitness.

We also get a workout...

...on our new structure.

It is so much fun...

...to visit each day.

We are all...

..little...

...monkeys...

...for sure!

We have been blessed with...

...blue skies!

Some students like to share...

...their favourite selection of work...

...they have done so far!

Very colourful.

Proud students.

Big smiles.

"I love working hard!" she says!

The children like to work in their new math workbooks.

I spend time with one grade while the other grade works quietly at their desks.

Total concentration.

Great effort.

The boys and girls like to adorn their work with lovely colouring.

We like to gather at carpet.

here we are waiting for our buddies to come.

We will have to make room for them.

Aya tells them a story.

Then our buddy class arrives.

I introduce Mr. Papineau.

Two full classes in the room.

We had previously read the Bible story on Creation.

We reread this week.

So our buddies could be reminded of it.

Ms. Spratt came into class to take over from Mr. Papineau.

The children work in teams.

Buddies assist our friends with spelling.

They share resources.

It's a hustle of activity.

Indeed, a bustle of activity.

Lots of brain power going on.

Ms. Spratt loves the lesson.

So do the children.

Aya too.

Great mentorship.

Fine friendship.

Smiles too.

Mr. Hamer gets some drone shots.

From his  perch near his desk.

Looks like a big crowd.

All students are on task.

All students are engaged.

Buddies sandwich one of our friends.

Later, we viewed a lovely bible video on Creation.

Looking good!

Play time...

...at the end of a day.

Rainbow creations.

Some math video fun.

The children have to find the correct addition response.

In outer space.

They love this engagement.

Concentration.

Math sure can be fun!

He's excited.

We are learning about proper and respectful use of social media.

We watched a video of Samaritans on the Digital Road.

We learned...

...that we must be...

...good Samaritans when we are on the computers and use them wisely.

This week we attended church.

We held our welcome mass.

It took place at St. Bernard Catholic Church.

Mr. Hamer and Mr. Papineau played guitar at the mass.

Our students sat with their buddies.

We have a fine looking choir!

They love to sing.

Aya loves assisting the pupils with their work.

A cool creation!

Very artistic.

We visited the park this week.

We went across the street to play.

We enjoy being with our friends.

We are like classroom brothers...

...and classroom sisters.

Some of the children couldn't wait...

...to get wet...

...at the splash pad.

Yessirree!

There's the water.

On a warm afternoon.

It certainly cooled us down!

Fun on the tire swing.

This little girl is prepared.

Class triplets!

Lots of fun things to play on at the park.

Great balancing act!

Splash fun.

He's having fun.

So is she!

Peekaboo!

I see you!

Too much fun.

Love the great big smiles.

A new structure in the park.

I found you.

She loves nature.

She loves climbing!

Just hanging around.

There she is!

"Hi Mr. Hamer!"

Back at the pad.

Back at the tire swing.

Just goofing around.

Under the rainbow.

Men in the sand.

Swinging in the breeze.

Still cooling down.

Say cheese!

Three buckets in the air...when is that water going to spill?

Big grin!

Having fun.

Hanging around.

Looking up.

Little monkeys.

Hi there!

Great arm strength.

So cool.

This week we visited the learning commons.

Ms. Hawley showed us a video...

...on how to care for...

...the books we take out.

The video is very interesting.

We learn a lot.

Ms. Hawley shows us proper care for the books.

She demonstrates the wrong way to keep track of your page in your book, then she shows us the correct way.

The library rules.

The 3:45 school band is about to ring...

...on the Friday afternoon...

...while we play outside...

...with our classmates.

Lots of physical fitness happening!

With that, Mr. Hamer (on guitar) says "farewell".  It has been a joy being your child's teacher even if it has only been for three weeks.  I know your son or daughter will meet with great success with their new teacher!  Have a super rest of the school year everyone.
At this point, I close the blog down, saying good-bye...but I will see your child every day at school throughout the year.
All the best, Mr. Hamer OCT
